Hornsey and Wood Green Labour Party welcomes all disabled and non-disabled members.

Ours is a member led, socialist Party. This is your Party and you are a vital part of everything we do.

Our practice is based on empowering disabled members to be at the heart and forefront of our learning how to improve access and participation for disabled people. We aim for the highest standards of inclusive practice and will always take our lead from our disabled membership.

We will always ask you to how we can ensure that you can fully participate in our Party. From our venues and how we run our meetings to our events, campaigning and how we communicate with you.

Our Policy is based on all we learn about good practice, ensuring our duty to comply with the Equality Act is understood by every member, and will be regularly monitored and reviewed.

We take our lead from the Social Model of disability, which was developed by disabled people. It says primarily the reasons for disability are barriers in society’s structures, discrimination, prejudice and stereotyping, not just due to an individual’s condition and/or impairments.

Disability Labour produces a number of Activist Guides for disabled people who want to get involved in the Labour Party and a link is available on the button below.
