Crouch End Labour is a mixed bunch of people: 80% of us have joined since Jeremy Corbyn’s 2015 Labour leadership campaign. Most of us are incomers arriving anything from 40 years to 4 months ago. We stay because it’s such a great place. Over a quarter of us are under 27. Our average age is 42.
We opposed putting Haringey’s housing and commercial stock and Hornsey Town Hall into the hands of overseas property developers. We voted to have democratic hustings to choose our new council candidates. Nearly all of us voted Remain and support Catherine West. We back Jeremy Corbyn’s call for a new Customs Union with the UE. We go on demonstrations, we have comedy nights and socials. We believe in fairness and equality. We want change.
Our monthly meetings are a lively mixture of political debate and campaigning for a better world.
