What we stand for

We believe the Universal Credit system should be scrapped and replaced by a system that does not punish those on low incomes.

Our Haringey campaign group is made up of local people, including claimants, trade union members, councillors and others who want to:

  • Stop and scrap Universal Credit
  • Support claimants in Haringey so that they can support each other – for example, by accompanying others to interviews, to meetings with a job coach, or to Work Capability Assessments.
  • Make sure that our council is firmly on the side of claimants and doing all it can to protect them

Claimants are joining us to build a collective campaign to improve the lives of those in need. We believe that claimants working with trade unions can give claimants a louder voice.

We want to build a London wide movement by linking up with other grassroots groups campaigning for an urgent end to Universal Credit.

Anyone who lives or works in Haringey is welcome to join us. You can email us here to find out more about our meetings and activities

Some local organisations provide help to residents claiming Universal Credit. More details are available if you click the button below.
