Response to Sunday Times article

Sunday 21st January 2018
The Sunday Times today has published a front page story which includes claims about both Hornsey and Wood Green and Tottenham constituency Labour Parties that are simply false. The newspaper didn’t approach any local Labour Party official to verify their claims.
We can inform members and supporters that none of our branches has forwarded a proposal to cut Headteachers pay to our upcoming Manifesto Conference. The implication that it will be debated there is simply untrue.
The report claims that the selection of candidates for the local council election was undemocratic yet we could have told them that the whole process was properly conducted in consultation with the London Regional Labour Party and the same rules applied to all candidates.
The smears and innuendo that make up the rest of the article are not really journalism at all. A rather sad day for British journalism.
