Postal votes are now open to all - you don't need to have a reason for voting by post. Postal votes are useful if you have a long commute, busy days, are away from home a lot, or think you might be on holiday.
It is easy to vote by post too: you will be sent a ballot form to record your vote. All you need do is to record your vote and sign the ballot form, then post your vote to meet the deadline which is set out clearly in the ballot papers.
It is an alternative to voting at the polling station - you can't then choose to vote on the day - but if you find you do have time on election day, you can hand your ballot form in at the polling station.
