Winning the General Election in May 2015: an evening with Catherine West
Hornsey Vale Community Centre, 60 Mayfield Road, London N8 9LP
You are invited to this important evening with Catherine West, which will bring together three local wards to hear Catherine speak about our strategy to win next May, to discuss the issues that are likely to affect local support, and to become involved in her campaign.
Thursday 27th November 7.30pm
An evening at St Mary's CE Primary School in Rectory Gardens, N8 7QN, with a glass of wine and slice of pizza, for which we charge £10 (£5 concessions) and hope to make a further contribution to the election fund. Arrive 7.30 for pizza, politics starts at 8.00pm.
Emily Thornberry, MP for Islington South and Shadow Attorney General, will speak to us about the Human Rights Act, the coalition government's plans to repeal it and to derail the European human rights agenda, and Labour's plans to defend it and improve the way cases are dealt with in Europe. It is a Hornsey event, but we are inviting people from all over the constituency, and from Tottenham, so it should be full and lively.
Kevin Maguire, journalist, political commentator and associate editor of Daily Mirror, returns to review the political events of the last year, and give us his take on prospects for the General Election. Full details and booking arrangements to follow, but do get it in your diary now!
