I have lived in Haringey for more than 30 years and brought up my family here. I helped manage a community centre for many years and have been a Woodside Councillor since 2010. In that time I've learned a lot about the ward and the variety of people who live here and the problems and challenges they face as well as how I can help them. I want to be able to use that knowledge over another four years to help residents with their housing issues, worries about education, concerns about the environment, traffic and their safety. I will work hard and determinedly for all residents.
We have achieved changes in the ward since 2010 - improved standards of social housing in the ward, better education for children in our schools, traffic problems addressed, roads resurfaced and made safer and improved open spaces and play areas. But there is always more to do and new problems arising especially as we face more years of austerity and cuts to local government budgets. So the challenges are there and I look forward to being able to work with residents for another four years to deal with them.
